Joe Summa developed his
love of music at an early age, becoming obsessed first with the
Beatles and then Kiss. A brief stint with the guitar took place at
age 9 but at age 12 he heard something that would change his life
forever, a short instrumental piece called "Eruption" and he hasn't
put his guitar down since. Joe doesn't simply copy Eddie Van
Halen's playing, he thinks it, lives it, breathes it, and channels
it like nobody else. As a founding member of Unchained Joe is proud
to continue to deliver the goods night after night in a way that
King Edward would no doubt approve of.
Joe Gorgolione was born
and raised in Northern New Jersey and started banging the drums at
5 years old. He started touring the tri-state and played 100’s of
venues while he was in Middle School and continued into his high
school years, with the contemporary Christian band
"Promise".
He soon added guitar to
his repertoire when he started his own original band "Conquest". It
was during these years he started writing and honing his own music.
Not long after high school, Joe picked up the bass and it soon
became his main instrument.
Playing countless gigs and
venues up and down the east coast on bass with cover bands such
as,"Direct Touch"," Magnetic Salad", Van Halen tribute band
"Unchained "and "Big Daddy". Joe also toured nationally, playing
bass with Benson recording artist "Three Crosses", at Tennessee
University for 10,000 people.
With his most recent
original band "JPT", he recorded and co-wrote 3 albums, and toured
from Maine to Tennessee. He played at Rutgers University with
Switchfoot, Somerset College with Sanctus Real and The Starland
Ballroom with Candlebox. JPT accepted the 2008 Momentum Award for
ROCK ARTIST OF THE YEAR and filmed for a FUSE TV reality show. When
"JPT" released The Burning on Cul De Sac Records\Infinity (their
third album and first national release to retail) on May 18, 2010,
"Deeper Than" - the 1st radio single from The Burning - rocked on
more than 20 stations!
The band's modern rock
version of "Praise Adonai" climbed the CRW Global Rock charts to #3
for 6 months (2008-2009). Joe is currently the singer/bass player
for local cover band "Till Now" and is playing bass with
"Unchained". He regularly fills in on bass and drums for the
worship band at Grace church in Netcong. Joe released his own
album, "2013" on July 4th, 2013 which is available on iTunes,
Amazon, etc.
John Listorti, the
driving rhythmic force behind the excitement of Unchained. Citing
only John Bonham as an equally important influence, John has been
inspired by the reigning king of rock drummers, Alex Van Halen,
since 1980.
Incorporating both Bonham
and Van Halen into his style, John has been recruited for duty in
many live and recording situations. He has toured the country
and/or recorded with artists such as Three Crosses, Michael W.
Smith, Jars of Clay and Petra.
John is a recurring member
of Unchained and has been slamming that unmistakable, blood red
TAMA kit with them since 1998. He has always prided himself on the
idea of keeping the gig authentic. "There's no need for
embellishments or a need to try to upgrade any of the parts. Every
part Alex plays is perfect and, in my opinion, whether you're been
se ared into the listeners
